Having years of experience as a nanny and child care expert, I know that it can be a challenging career choice. There are times when you may not interact with other adults for days. While we love our nanny families it is important that we take the time to nurture ourselves. We have created a monthly support group meeting for nanny’s. This is a confidential and safe place to share your joy’s and challenges. The nannies in our group have said that it is wonderful to be able to talk to people who understand the challenges of being a nanny. We also use this time to present fun learning and craft ideas you can do with your nanny kids, as well as have small training’s on a variety of topics.
Topics we have recently covered include;
- How to handle sticky communication issues w your nanny family
- Negotiating a nanny/parent work agreement
- Positive discipline structures for young children
- Strategies for working with children who have special needs
This group is open to all nannies in our area. You do not have to be working through our agency to attend. Meetings are held the first Sunday of the month from 2 to 4 pm.
We meet at Northwest Assembly of God Church located at 2714 Hunters Green, San Antonio, Tx 78231. Our group has no religious affiliation with this church. They have graciously allowed us to use their fellowship hall for our meetings.
This is a warm and welcoming group and we would love to have you join us! If you have questions please feel free to call me at 210 825-4124.
One of our nannies, Cynthia Ramirez showing the group how to create Valentine themed sensory tubs.
Hillary enjoyed playing in the tubs as much as the kids do!
